The Petaluma Educational Foundation is specifically geared toward subsidizing impactful educational opportunities through scholarships, impact grants, and endowed funds.
We are proud to be 100% community-supported, meaning that we do not receive any government funding. However, there are lots of other ways for you to get involved besides donating.
We offer a customized year-long partnership program through our PEF Annual Partner for Education Program. This program provides year-round acknowledgment and exposure for our partners who place education at the top of their philanthropic passions.
The July through June program carries a well-rounded benefits package including BASH sponsorship, PEF Impact Grant Partnership Funding, and other elements to brand your business as an active participant in supporting the local school community.

The Petaluma Educational Foundation (PEF) is proud to operate two thrift stores in downtown Petaluma. Alphabet Soup Clothing & Alphabet Soup Home, located at 203 & 217 Western Avenue, were founded to benefit our community's families, students, and schools. Our dedicated volunteers support both locations, making a difference that will last a lifetime.
By shopping at either location, donating items, or volunteering your time, you can help us advance PEF’s mission and impact local education for all 12,000 TK-12 students attending 35 public, private, and charter schools in the Petaluma area.

Friends of PEF began as a group of community members who wanted to celebrate and support the Foundation’s efforts year-round. Today, we help organize events like PEF Giants Night, our Scholarship Reception, and other fun get-togethers. So, whether you’d like to become a school liaison or board member, volunteer at Alphabet Soup or plan our next BASH, we invite you to bring your interests and talents to the table.
