PETALUMA, CA, April 17, 2025 —The Petaluma Educational Foundation (PEF) is honored to manage 94 scholarship funds for donors who provide the Foundation with clear criteria for selecting recipients. This year, PEF has awarded a record-breaking $300,020 in 446 individual scholarships to 276 seniors graduating from Petaluma area high schools. This brings the total to $5,149,009 in scholarships awarded by PEF since 1990.

The PEF scholarship program is open to all members of the Class of 2025 attending any of the seven Petaluma area high schools (Petaluma High, Casa Grande High, St. Vincent College Prep, San Antonio High, Sonoma Mountain High, Carpe Diem High, Valley Oaks High, and Headwaters Academy) who are looking to pursue further education at 2-year colleges, 4-year colleges, and vocational/trade programs after graduation. Students applied online at pefinfo.com for various financial awards funded by PEFdonors. On Wednesday, April 16th, the PEF scholarship awards reception, held at Petaluma High School’s gym, was attended by students and their families, donors, and the board and staff of PEF, along with elected officials, Mayor Kevin McDonnell, PCSD School Board members Mady Cloud and Ellen Webster.

PEF proudly supports engaging young minds by providing access to all students at every level across all subject areas, enabling them to be the best they can be. PEF assists these students by enhancing their educational opportunities, fostering innovative and creative thinkers who will lead our community as future workforce members. The Foundation celebrates over $ 10 million in financial support awarded through our grant and scholarship programs since PEF was founded. PEF does not receive public funding and raises funds from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Additionally, PEF operates Alphabet Soup Thrift Stores, with two locations in downtown Petaluma. All proceeds from Alphabet Soupbenefit PEF's mission.
