Guest Speaker Bios:
Al Statz is president and founder of merger and acquisition advisory and business valuation firm Exit Strategies Group (www.exitstrategiesgroup.com). Founded in 2002, the firm specializes in helping family-owned and closely-held business owners optimize their results in a sale or recapitalization. Al has advised on well over a hundred successful M&A transactions, and has first-hand early-career experience developing and launching technology products, building sales and distribution channels, and integrating business acquisitions. Al has engineering and business degrees and is accredited in both M&A (M&AMI) and business valuation (ASA).
Brian Breen, CFP®, CEPA is the founder and principal of an independent fiduciary financial planning firm established in 2009. With over two decades of experience, Brian specializes in working with high-net-worth individuals and business owners to integrate personal financial planning with strategic business exit planning. As both a CFP® and CEPA, Brian brings a unique perspective to the challenges business owners face—especially when up to 80% of their wealth is tied up in their company. He helps clients identify their “wealth gap,” build personal liquidity outside the business, and design exit strategies that maximize value and support long-term financial independence. Before founding his firm, Brian began his career in 2003 at several large banks, brokerage firms, and insurance companies, where he recognized the need for more transparent and conflict-free advice. Today, he leads a client-focused practice centered on fiduciary principles and long-term planning. Brian holds a B.S. in Business Management from Sonoma State University and is active in the Petaluma community through his work with the Petaluma Educational Foundation and other local nonprofits. He lives in Petaluma with his wife and three sons.
